Intercellular interactions

After clicking on the Interactions tab on the property panel on the right, you will see a menu that displays the parameters of cell-cell interactions of the selected cell type.

  • Damage rate: intensity with which cells of the selected type attack cells of other types when interacting,

  • Damage phagocytosis rate: the intensity with which cells of a selected type phagocytose dead cells of any type,

  • Cell types: Cell types that the selected cell type interacts with (discussed below).

Important

Do not confuse Damage rate in the Interactions tab with Damage rate in the Integrity tab.

Damage rate (Interactions) - the intensity with which a cell attacks OTHER cells when interacting.

Damage rate (Integrity) - the intensity with which the cell ITSELF receives damage (does not depend on other cells, the cell just seems to “wear out”).

In the figure above, the selected cell type in the diagram already has an interaction (icon_interaction), so under the Cell types field there is already a field with the name of the cell type (in this case, CellDefinition_1) with which the cells of the selected type interact. If there were several such types of cells, then for each of them there would be a corresponding field.

For each cell type that the selected cell type interacts with, you can configure the following parameters.

  • Attack rate: attack intensity,

  • Fuse rate: intensity of fusion of two cells,

  • Phagocytosis rate: intensity of phagocytosis.

You can also configure these parameters directly on the model diagram.

Important

You should not add new interactions in the Interactions tab - add and remove them only through the diagram.
